Excellent heat resistance, aging resistance, oil resistance, ozone resistance, and UV resistance. Its mechanical properties and processing properties are better than those of fluororubber and silicone rubber. Its heat resistance, aging resistance, and oil resistance are better than those of nitrile rubber. It is widely used in various high-temperature and oil-resistant environments. It has become a sealing material that the automotive industry has focused on developing and promoting in recent years, especially for automotive high-temperature resistant oil seals, crankshafts, valve stems, cylinder gaskets, hydraulic oil pipelines, etc.

Technical parameters:

Category Details

  – Reinforcing Fillers: Carbon black (30–50 phr), magnesium oxide (5–10 phr)
  – Plasticizers: Phthalate esters (5–15 phr)
  – Curing Agents: Fatty amines (0.5–2 phr) or thioureas (1–3 phr)
Physical Properties – Hardness (Shore A): 60–90 (ASTM D2240)
  – Tensile Strength: 8–18 MPa (ASTM D412)
  – Elongation at Break: 150–400% (ASTM D412)
  – Density: 1.2–1.4 g/cm³
Thermal Resistance – Service Temperature: -15°C to +180°C (intermittent 200°C)
  – Thermal Stability: <10% weight loss at 175°C (24h, ASTM D573)
Chemical Resistance – Resistant To: Mineral oils, engine lubricants, ozone, and UV
  – Limitations: Strong acids, alkalis, polar solvents (e.g., acetone)
Key Applications – Automotive: Turbocharger hoses, engine seals, and fuel injector O-rings
  – Industrial: High-temperature gaskets and vibration dampers
  – Aerospace: Hydraulic system seals and fuel line components
Processing – Mixing: High-shear internal mixer (>70°C) or two-roll mill
  – Molding: Compression/injection molding (170–190°C, 10–20 MPa)
  – Curing: Post-cure (180°C, 2–6h) for optimal compression set
Safety & Compliance – MSDS: Non-flammable (flash point >250°C); avoid inhalation/skin contact
  – Regulatory: REACH, RoHS, and API 6D (pipeline valves)
Storage – Conditions: Dry, <25°C, away from UV/ozone; shelf life 6–12 months
  – Packaging: Polyethylene-lined bags (prevent moisture absorption)
Quality Control – Testing: Mooney viscosity (ML 1+4. ASTM D1646), compression set (ASTM D395)
  – Certifications: ISO 9001 (manufacturing), ASTM D2000 (standard classification)
